Dear Family, Friends & Those We have not yet Met (who are also our friends),
Steve and I are writing this letter in dire need of your prayers! As many of you got to read our blog on waiting on the Lord and seeking Him for direction in regards to Steve's health, we find ourselves at a crossroads. Upon leaving the Mayo Clinic before Thanksgiving with a clear diagnosis and easy next steps we did not anticipate encountering more chaos and confusion as we waited for a neurologist to call with a consult and to prescribe medication that could take Steve's pain away in a matter of weeks. We came home to many suggestions for next steps and scheduling conflicts with the Mayo Clinic to find out the neurologist who's consult is needed could only be seen December 30th. We have been praying about this appointment and heard back today that he cannot make any exceptions and do a consult on the phone, he will only see us in Arizona. As you can imagine we are trying to remain hopeful and encouraged while not looking to our circumstances but clinging to God's promises in this dark hour. We sit here, typing this, fighting back tears as we don't know how we are going to make yet another trip to Arizona and what even will come out of it.... Please pray for us!
"For the Lord is God, and He created the heavens and the earth and put everything in its place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos," Isaiah 45:18a.
We know that God is a God of order and the enemy creates chaos and confusion. We believe that God is in control of every detail of our lives including exactly what we need in this very moment. We trust that He will guide us and lead us in the way we should go.... but we need you. We need the body. We need people to remind us of God's goodness. We need friends and family to stand with us, holding our hands as we truly believe this is the darkest hour before the ever-coming dawn.
We love you from the bottom of our hearts!
Please stand with us in prayer,
Casey & Steve
We are praying. So frustrating. We've had our experiences with loved ones in need of medical attention and where you basically are putting your loved ones in the hands of educated strangers. We will prayer specifically that in some miraculous moment that the doctor will hear Steve's case from another doctor or read enough of his record to where he can do a phone consult.... even though he said he can't. Anything is possible and if that isn't God's plan then we will pray for the quickest consult possible and pain relief for Steve. So sorry you both have to go through this but your strength is a testimony to us. Keep strong in the Lord because He already knows your future and has it handled. Love ya guys. Misty Chappelle.
